In Hivelight you have the ability to mark a task as an immediate priority. This provides a quick method for communicating to your team that a certain task needs to be done urgently.

Effect of marking a task as a priority task

Effect of marking a task as priority:

  • The task to rise to the top of the dashboard and task list regardless of it's due date.

  • The assignee for that task will receive an email telling them that the task is a priority and with a link to go and action that task (unless it was the assignee who marked the task as a priority);

  • Priority tasks are outlined in red and appear at the top of:

    • The assignee's dashboard;

    • The workspace task list;

    • The matter task list (if the task belongs to that matter).

The image below shows that the user has two priority tasks to do.

The image below shows the task list for this matter. There is one priority task for this matter.

How to make a task a priority task

You can mark a task as a priority using any of the following methods:

  1. From the Task List
    In either the Workspace Task List or Matter Task list, click the flag icon located to the left of the task name (between the checkbox and the task title). This instantly marks the task as a priority. (See image above)

  2. From Within the Task
    Open the task, scroll to the bottom, and switch on the Task Priority toggle. This is useful if you’re editing other task details as well.

  3. While Creating a New Task
    When filling out the Create Task form, simply toggle on the Mark this task as a priority option before saving. The task will be created and marked as a priority right away.
